I am pleased to announce the launch of our second screen iPad App for the 2012 Presidential debates. Content and social conversation relating to questions posed to candidates is synchronously delivered during the live broadcast for all of the 2012 Presidential and Vice-Presidential debates. It requires iOS 5.1 or above. You have to connect your Twitter account to your iPad to view and engage in social conversations. You can watch related videos and read news without Twitter account integration. Please use this app while watching the debates and let me know your feedback via FB messages or e-mail. Our awesome team includes Brian Bauman, Daniel Cooper, Megan McNames, Daniel Parish, Michael Holmes, Michael Richards, Aparna Satheesan, Tyler Schmitt, Suzy Smith, Vinayak Tanksale and Missouri Waite. We thank Ball State’s Emerging Media Initiative, Center for Media Design, Insight and Research, Departments of Telecommunications, Political Science and Computer Science for their support.
Brian Bauman, Michael Richards, Zhiwen Shen and Tyler Schmitt worked with us as student developers on this project.
Josh Hurst and Ryan Thompson worked with me in exploring Natural User Interfaces using Microsoft Kinect. They developed an extensive framework for two applications.
